The Power of Truth
Truth is a supernatural power that sets people free. And yet, so many of God’s people choose to live under the bondage of lies. Let’s discuss the power of truth, how to find real truth, how to be set free from bondage, and how to keep the power of truth activated in our lives.
Where does truth come from? We find the answer to this question in John 1:17, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” The power of truth comes to us from our Lord, Himself. And why does this truth come to us through our Lord? The answer is simple, and it is found in Numbers 23:19, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” You might be asking yourself, “When did He fulfill His promise to me?” Isaiah 53:4-5 reveal to us when He made a blood covenant with us. It says, “Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” And before He gave up His Spirit on this earth to the Father, He shared this all-powerful truth, “It is finished!”, (John 19:30).
I don’t know about you, but I personally take great comfort in this truth about our Lord, “He never lies”. In today’s world finding someone that is truthful is a challenge. But not with our Lord, “He always speaks the truth”. I also find security that He never changes, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”, (Hebrews 13:8). Though chaos is breaking forth all around us we can hold onto the security and stability of our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.
If you are seeking truth, seek Jesus. Or you will live a life full of disappointment. The only place to discover real truth, is at the feet of Yeshua. His Word says about Him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me”, John 14:6, AMP.
Whatever is going on in your life today, Jesus has the answer. If you are lost, He will show you the way, (John 14:6). Is your body is sick? He is the Lord who heals you, (Exodus 15:26). Are you in trouble and need deliverance? “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles”, Psalm 34:17. Do you need provision? Philippians 4:19 encourages us with these powerful and truthful words, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” And no matter how hopeless the situation may appear, He boldly declares these unlimited words filled with promise to us, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you”, Matthew 17:20.
How do we not only walk in these promises but live them on a daily basis? John 8:31-32 instructs us how to live a lifestyle of truth. Jesus says, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Now you take the power of truth and ponder upon them and activate them in your life.
